I was just wondering witch of these three builds R/E, R/W, R/M, would be better for PvP and PvE, since i haven't played the beta I really wouldn't know, eventhhough i have read alot about rangers but mostly ranger/monk and ranger /mesmer. ( I have been leaning towards R/E, but im still not sure), can anyone help me?

Hard call, though if i were you i'd discard the Ranger/Warrior, since it sux unless you only want it for the frenzy but there are better ones out there to replace that.

Ranger/Mesmer is a commonly used combo, but like ensign keeps hammering on (

) they have a lot of overlapping skills. Mesmer has strong anti-caster spells, but ranger has some too, they are less effective, but also cost a lot less bc of expertize.

Ranger/Elementalist is what i probably are going for, the conjure adds a nice damage bonus, and together with some buff can do quite a lot of damage.
But on the other hand, rangers arent really ment to be machines of destruction. Thats more Elementalists and Warriors job.

It mostly comes down to what role you want to forfil. If you want an anti-caster build go R/Me, if you want a damage dealer for PvP/PvE go elementalist, if you want to be able to stand ur ground in PvE and Solo go R/Mo, if you want to be a jack of all trades you could go pure ranger, and use disruptions/traps/and some powerful attacks.

well ranger/warrior isnt that good when it coems to rangering. but if u want to fight in melee they make excellent evaders with there skills mixed with some tactics skills.

of course if your going for that ranger, then ranger/elem and ranger/monk make excellent damagers. one cool thing about the ranger/monk is that u can take a rez with you and u still hve good damage through smiting prayers with judges insight + penetrating shot = good damage. about the same as ranger/elem but when pvmin u got the rez. but then when it comes to pvp a ranger/elem can do something real special. they can catch ppl on fire using mark of rodgorts with a gyph lesser energy then that conjure flame and kick some arse. not so effective in pvm though. so basically the ranger/monk can do the same damage as a ranger/elem in pvm but also hve a rez. or in pvp there is the same dmage with rez, but then the ranger/elem cau use the mark rodgort combo to make way mroe damge then the ranger/monk.

lol...crap... now i don't know if i wanna go Ranger/Monk or Ranger/Ele... having Conjure would save a lot of energy overtime... and Rangers don't have a lot of energy so that is a big plus.... but on the other hand going Monk i can get Rebirth...

Well IMO the best thing you can do is just make both of them, just mess around a bit with them and see what you like best... If you see as a R/E that you have constatly have plenty of energy left and constant get low on health and stuff ...

Go R/Mo

If you notice as monk that u run out of energy fast with the constant J.I. and that healing isnt really neccisary, because a monk/X does that for you and rangers usually arent the ones being targeted (they dont pose the biggest damage threat (elementalists), neither do they disrupt you as much as mesmers (unless with a good R/Me build), and monks should always been taken care of first ...
